If you’re like most people seeking peace through living a more spiritual life, you could be into many different things.
Maybe you’ve gotten into meditation, learned new forms of prayer, gone on retreats or have been practising yoga or Tai Chi. Maybe you’ve tried educating yourself through reading books, taking courses, attending seminars or attending workshops to learn how to feel better inside.Maybe you’ve gotten into different mind-body exercises or seen different practitioners for bodywork. You may have sought wisdom from an even wider variety of the world’s religious traditions by attending different churches or spiritual and religious groups.
These approaches all have their place, and if we work together, I may encourage you to continue engaging with them. Truthfully, I draw on many of them myself. They can be meaningful ways to deepen your awareness of who you are and what might support your healing.
At the same time, some people find that, on their own, these approaches don’t always create the sense of peace they’re hoping for. In part, this can be because they may not fully support you in gently exploring and processing the feelings you’re carrying inside. For many, a deeper and more lasting sense of healing can come from being able to connect more directly with those inner experiences.
My approach is grounded in the belief that moving toward peace often involves turning toward what’s happening within you—at a pace that feels safe and supportive. This can include acknowledging, honouring, and giving voice to the weight you’ve been carrying. If it feels like a fit, I can support you in that deeper, more meaningful process.
You may have already explored psychotherapy or a support group, and it might not have felt like the right fit for you. In some cases, this can be because the approach didn’t quite align with what you needed to explore or support what was happening inside.
